Welcome to Hive News, the official home for everything happening with The Beetlebees.

If you found your way here because you saw one of our shorts, stumbled across a character, or somehow ended up following a bunch of weird bees on the internet... welcome. 😂

The Beetlebees is an independent animated series that I've been building for a long time. It's a world full of characters, music, ridiculous situations, and a whole lot of bees trying to figure out their lives.

And now, we're finally getting closer to seeing that world on screen.

🎬 So What Is Hive News?

This is where I'll share what's happening with the series.

New characters. New artwork. Shorts. Music. Episode updates. Behind the scenes moments. Production milestones. And sometimes just whatever interesting thing happens while I'm trying to make a cartoon.

There is a LOT that goes into making an animated series that you never get to see when you watch the finished episode.

That's what I want to share here.

Sometimes it'll be something big, like finishing a major part of an episode.

Other times it'll be something small, like finishing a character I've been working on for days.

Either way, if it's happening in the Hive, you'll probably find it here.

🐝 How We Got Here

The Beetlebees didn't start with a full production team or a studio behind it.

It's been a very personal project, and I've learned a ridiculous number of things along the way just to make it possible.

I've written the stories, created the characters, drawn the artwork, worked on the animation, edited the voices, worked on the music and sound, and basically figured things out as I went.

There have been plenty of moments where I've wondered if I was completely crazy for trying to do all of this.

There have also been moments where I looked at something I made and thought...

"Okay. This might actually work."

That's what makes this project so much fun.

🎬 And Now We're Making Episode 1

After making shorts, experimenting with the characters, building the world, and taking a few detours along the way, we're finally working toward the first real episode of The Beetlebees.

The voices are edited.

The animatic is finished.

Characters are being completed.

Backgrounds are being drawn.

And the episode is starting to come together piece by piece.

There's still a long way to go, but for the first time, it really feels like we're building something that people are actually going to be able to watch.

So this is where Hive News begins.

I'll be using this space to document the journey as The Beetlebees continues to grow.
